In 2015, Treasury was proud to be honoured as a civic champion at the prestigious Queensland Hotels Association Awards for Excellence, receiving the coveted award for ‘Most Outstanding Community Service & Achievement’. For 20 years, we have demonstrated unwavering commitment to the community in which we live and operate and are proud to support a great range of organisations, events and activations that make a genuine difference to the lives of Queenslanders.
Ronald McDonald House South East Queensland
In December 2014, Treasury Casino & Hotel and sister property Jupiters Hotel & Casino, supported by parent company The Star Entertainment Group, pledged $3 million over three years to Ronald McDonald House SEQ, kick-started with a $1 million donation. In addition to raising vital funds and awareness, we also take pride in giving seriously ill children and their families a break from their challenging circumstances via our Make-a-Meal contributions at RMH SEQ’s Herston House.
Cerebral Palsy League
In 2016 we celebrate 14 consecutive years of partnership with Cerebral Palsy League, and 8 years as presenting partner of the annual Picnic in the Park event, which was honoured at the 2015 Lord Mayor’s Australia Day Awards as ‘Community Event of the Year’. Together with CPL, we have raised more than $2 million for vital therapies, equipment and innovative life-skills programs for people with disabilities.
Vinnies CEO Sleepout
To raise awareness for those currently experiencing homelessness, Treasury Managing Director Geoff Hogg joins other local business leaders in the annual Vinnies CEO Sleepout. This annual event remains an initiative close to the Treasury Team’s hearts: in 2014, Treasury Casino & Hotel donated $100,000 to the campaign to encourage other business leaders to take part with a $500 start-up per registration.
Gambling Community Benefit Fund
In addition to Treasury’s ongoing community partnerships, parent company The Star Entertainment Group continues to contribute to the Queensland Office of Liquor and Gaming Regulation Community Benefit Funds Unit. More than $100 million has been contributed to the Gambling Community Benefit Fund (previously the Jupiters Casino Community Benefit Fund) since 1987 for grants to community groups across Southern Queensland.
